Clarification on reported FairSquare comments on supposed Saudi Arabia reforms

FairSquare has today issued a clarification with regard to media reporting about Saudi Arabia.

Reports that Saudi Arabia has abolished its kafala system emerged online this week, including an article by Impact International for Human Rights Policies, which describes itself as  “a nongovernmental think-tank based in London.”

This report attributed a quote to FairSquare programme director Nicholas McGeehan. FairSquare is unaware of the reported legal reforms and no FairSquare directors or staff members have spoken to Impact International, or to any other journalists, or issued any comments on the matter.

FairSquare has written to Impact International for Human Rights Policies that the statement attributed to our programme director be removed and a correction added to the article in question.
